Hello
My name is Caitlin Yarber, and I am a freshman here at Florida State University. I am currently a NFA-nursing student and I hope to use my nursing degree to become a travel nurse. My hometown is Orlando, FL, however, I was born in Lansing, MI. I have two younger sisters and three dogs. I attended a private, catholic high school, and many of my classmates also decided to attend FSU. In high school, I participated on the sideline and competitive cheer teams where we earned the title of state runner-up my senior year. During my free time, I love to go to the beach, read, and spend time with my friends and family. Recently, I have enjoyed playing card games, and just last week I officially read every single Colleen Hoover book.
Biography
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to do something medical-related. For the longest time I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon, but I decided that nursing was more realistic for me. I grew up surrounded by nurses since many of my cousins and aunts are nurses. I got to hear all of their stories and their opinions on each specialty. I cannot wait for the day that I get to contribute my own stories in nursing to the conversation. The reason that I decided to use health insurance as my topic is because it is something that has been a big controversy in the world lately, especially since COVID-19. Exploring this topic has allowed me to not only understand health insurance, how it works, and all of the different aspects of it, but it has also allowed me to understand why many people have a hard time attaining it. In my future career, this knowledge will help me to properly emphasize a person that is facing this issue.
